The Ski Area Citizens' Coalition released this year's Ski Area Environmental Scorecard under the headline "Ski Resort Expansion is Back in the West." The report, which docks resorts heavily for terrain expansion into environmentally sensitive areas, rated Arizona Snowbowl, Breckenridge, and Mt. Spokane Ski and Snowboard Park as the worst environmental offenders, while Park City, Steven's Pass, and China Peak got the top scores. The report revealed that almost 1/3 of Western resorts expanded terrain or facilities this season. [Ski Area Citizens' Coalition]
