James Perse sold his one-bedroom Hollywood Hills home this April—it had been on the market intermittently since 2009, most recently asking $3.75M in late 2011—so it's no shocker that he's been sniffing around for a replacement. Sure, he and his wife already own a $16M bluff-top compound in Malibu's ritzy Point Dume area, but what the heck! His clingy cotton T-shirts are expensive, and the James Perse empire has done well.
The Real Estalker reports that Perse has just dropped $6.69M on their second Point Dume acquisition, a six-bedroom, 7,000-square-foot "European Country" home with an apple orchard, a multi-level terrace, and deeded access to a private bit of coastline. The property was rumored to have sold to Dave Matthews in February, but, as The Real Estalker points out, it wasn't Matthews himself who bought the place but rather his bass player, Stefan Lessard, who quietly flipped the house to Perse.
