A tipster writes in with the news that Ellen DeGeneres and her actress wife, Portia de Rossi, have sold Hidden Valley Farm, their stunning equestrian estate in Thousand Oaks, Calif., only six weeks after the property was first listed for $11M. The ranch must have seen a serious amount of interested buyers, because the Hollywood power couple and prolific house flippers upped the price in August to $12.995M, which is the last official ask.
UPDATE: Zillow Blog reports the sale price as $10.85M, or about $150K less than the original ask. Oof!
Anyway, DeGeneres and de Rossi purchased the 26-acre farm, which includes eight cottages, an office, several barns, a tennis court, and something called a "romantic barn," in 2009, and it was featured in a glorious Elle Decor spread this April. Despite de Rossi's passion for horses and love for the property, the couple seems to be moving on to assuage Ellen's obsession with decorating. They purchased a $26M Montecito villa that has already received a pricey renovation from designer-to-the-stars John Saladino. Meanwhile, the couple has a much more modest Beverly Hills penthouse—perhaps housing for staff or family—on the market for a comparatively paltry $899K.
