'Exquisite, Uncomplicated' Selldorf Design Asks $4.75M

New, 4 comments

It's not often the word "uncomplicated" pops up as a descriptor in real estate listings, but that's exactly how Annabelle Selldorf describes the design of this house, in Wainscott, N.Y., so naturally the brokerbabble followed suit. Completed in 2004, the home has a cedar-clad exterior surrounded by gardens; inside, there are glass doors thoughout (according to the architect, "strong proportions mean rooms feel complete even when there are fewer than four walls"—huh? what?), five bedrooms (including a first-floor master suite with a private garden), a basement with a wine caller, a heated gunite pool with a waterfall and kitted-out cabana, and the distinction of having once been published in Architectural Digest.
