12 Secret Peeks Into Bob Hope's Storied Lautner Listing

New, 7 comments

Today the furnishings and memorabilia of the Bob Hope estate go up for auction in Beverly Hills, and the catalog—a 350-page behemoth replete with lucite tables, floral rattan chairs, and various artistic iterations of Hope's face—offers up a hidden bonus: photos of Bob and Dolores' famous John Lautner-designed "Mushroom House" in Palm Springs, Calif., which, after much price speculation, was listed in February for $50M. Sprinkled throughout the catalog (warning: PDF) are archival photos of the couple inside their 23,366-square-foot modernist spread, offering glimpses of the semi-mysterious interiors cupped beneath that undulating visor roofline. Eleven more shots are below, so do have a look.
