5.65-Acre Hamptons Estate Has Tennis Court, Wants $20M

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Water Mill, N.Y.
Price: $19,995,000
Location: The Southampton hamlet of Water Mill is the 14th most expensive ZIP code in the United States for a reason, and the reason is homes like this one. This 5.65-acre estate features a sunken tennis court, heated pool, and 350 feet of waterfront—also known as the Hamptons trifecta—on Mill Pond, as well as sprawling, manicured lawns and a winding private driveway. The house itself, an 11,380-square-foot shingle-style with 9.5 baths, stone-covered patios, and a two-story turret room, was built in 2000 by noted Hamptons architect John Laffey and last changed hands in 2003 to the tune of $5.5M. Now it's looking to almost quadruple that number, although what, if anything, has been altered in the past 10 years is not readily apparent. What is apparent, though, is that this is and has always been a fantastic home.
