Come October 6 Paris' Hotel Plaza Athénée will be auctioning off about 1,000 of its vintage and antiquarian furnishings in preparation for its seven-month restoration. Included in the 100-year-old hotel's mass sell-off: a €500-€700 letter box, a pair of €1,000 Charles Jouffre curtains, and, per the New York Times, Louis XVI-style vases, Murano glass chandeliers, and, the pièce de résistance, the marble-topped oak concierge desk.
