Buy Kurt Cobain's Childhood Home in Seattle For $500K

New, 8 comments

Up for grabs in Seattle: the childhood home of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, who lived in this four bedroom Craftsman-style bungalow until he was nine and again from age 16 to 20. Cobain's mother listed the place for $500K last week, offering up in the mix of listing images photos of an adolescent Cobain—in acid wash jeans, with his guitar—lounging at home. While there has been a glut of famous musicians' former homes hitting the market lately—T-Swift! Eminem! Notorious B.I.G.! Jim Morrison!—Cobain's home trumps them all in terms of historic preservation; the hole in the wall "where he punched it as a teen, almost breaking his hand," remains unpatched, and the scrawls of his favorite band logos (those of Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, etc.) still mark his bedroom. · Kurt Cobain's Childhood Home in Aberdeen, Wash.
