Sensible Opulence for $27 Million in Big Sky

If your ski in/ski out dream chalet is not complete without a dog bath, the Belz Chateau in Big Sky, Montana is your listing. At $27 million, you'll find over 16,000 square feet, 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and of course the obligatory heated driveway and patio areas. But "sensible opulence" (according to the ad) also includes a theater, sauna, steam room, and wine grotto. There may not be much that is practical at this "palatial estate," but its location at the base of Big Sky's Moonlight Basin Resort makes a lot of sense. It sits on almost 4 acres of prime ski real estate and has two laundry rooms just in case you get really dirty. It's unlikely that you are doing your own laundry if your second home is a cool $27 million, but the Belz Chateau has some other pretty epic amenities. Instead of trudging up and down those pesky stairs, just hop in an elevator to navigate the home's 16,000 square feet. And at the end of a powder day you don't have to worry about walking a dozen feet or so to one of those lesser condos. At Belz Chateau you also have a private ski bridge so you'll never have to walk in ski boots again. Just don't forget Fluffy, your white Bichon Frise, because she's really excited about the dog bath. · 5 Lone Camp Road, Big Sky, Montana 59716 United States [Sotheby's]
