Edgartown has finally found a buyer for the historic and crumbling Warren House. "If all goes according to plan and the sale is concluded next month, it would relieve the town of a nine-year financial burden, but at a steep price. The town bought the house for $3.5 million in 2004. In addition to the loss of $1 million on the sale, the town has paid close to $2.5 million in principal and interest payments since the purchase." Edgartown will also pay a $75,000 brokerage fee on the $2.5 million sale. [Martha's Vineyard Times; previously]
