Inside Max Humphrey's Bright, Eclectic L.A. Apartment

When Max Humphrey, a partner in the L.A.-based firm Burnham Design, was named in the inaugural class of a Curbed Young Guns a couple of weeks ago, he mentioned that having his apartment photographed for Lonny was one of his biggest career milestones so far. Well, that spread has just hit shelves, so to speak, in the magazine's Sept. issue.

Humphrey filled the apartment, a rental in a Leland Bryant-designed building in West Hollywood, with colorful accessories, oversize posters, an eclectic mix of furnishings (antiques, Craigslist, Eames), and a carefully curated gallery wall. Overall the vibe is young and fun, with hints of Humphrey's past life playing bass guitar in a punk band. "I don't think Max was going for any particular theme," Humphrey's partner and mentor, Betsy Burnham, told Lonny. "He was simply true to his tastes, and the result is fresh and unique." Head to Lonny for the full set of photos.
