Wacky Wellfleet Contemporary Can't Find a Buyer

New, 2 comments

After hitting the market in late April with what turned out to be an ambitious $499,900 asking price, this Wellfleet listing has now taken a fourth meeting with the pricechopper. During the first three sit-downs, $20K slices were taken off the ask. Alas, a $439,900 price tag couldn't do the trick and at the last rendezvous, the chopper doubled down and removed $40K from the ask. Built in 1975, the three bedroom, two and a half bath Contemporary features exposed beams, large windows, a fireplace, hardwood floors, and a wrap around deck. The 1,968 square foot home sits on a .76 acre lot and is "nestled among the trees!" Will the latest chop be enough to lure in a buyer? The new asking price of $399,900 makes this one of the least expensive year-round single-family listings in Wellfleet. Plus, at least according to The Wall Street Journal, recent appreciation for the unique charms and solid bones found in the eclectic styles of the '70s are "bringing groovy back to real estate." Can you dig it?
