Check Out This Wild Passive Solar Telluride Compound!

New, 1 comment

It's hard not to want to take some time investigating this $1.5 million passive solar Telluride home, as it's evident that the alternative thinking that made Telluride the ski town it has become (or maybe, was?) fully inspired its owner and builder. After the shock of seeing the entire innards of the four bedroom, 2.5 bath, 3,276 square foot interior from outside the two-story floor-to-ceiling glass facade, the remaining oddities of this custom home are found in all kinds of nooks and crannies. The kitchen stove and sink are split up and ensconced into a triangular corner counterspace and above a small reading nook, while many of the spaces in the two-story main room are suggestively broken up by geometric shapes of rough concrete and log beams while remaining physically connected. You'd be hard-pressed to find any room resembling a standard box or one that isn't open in some way to the connecting public spaces around it. Those who can't take the architectural oddities can sequester themselves in a nearby guest house.
