Stowe Mountain Resort CEO and President Robert McEleney announced this past weekend that construction on a slew of new facilities will begin later this year. In an effort to expand Stowe's year-round offerings, the resort plans to build an adventure center complex, a Spruce Peak retail and restaurant plaza, and a new outdoor ice skating rink. Year-round amenities supplement the unpredictable snowpack, and McEleney also promised other potential summer development including a climbing wall, zip line tour, and lift-assisted mountain biking.
