Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Kalamazoo, Mich.
Price: $549,900
The Skinny: This delightfully offbeat Queen Anne-style manor has been impressing Kalamazooans with its rakish charm for more than 130 years, ever since noted hydraulic engineer Delos Chappell had the home erected for his extended family in 1880. Though Chappell lived in the home for less than three years, the mansion was lucky enough to have passed through the hands of a succession of families who kept it in fairly good condition, until it recently underwent an award-winning restoration process. The renovations were as extensive as they were successful: According to the listing, the home's owners have "shellacked the interior woodwork, lovingly restored the gorgeous stained glass windows, and have preserved the heritage of its one-of-a-kind use of different woods for each room". In the kitchen, updates include custom cherry cabinetry, double ovens, and a gas cooktop while the original pantry doors and hardware have been preserved; in the rest of the house, period-authentic wall coverings have been added while the original fireplaces have been preserved. The carriage house out back has been converted to a one-bedroom guest house, and copper gutters and custom iron fencing round out the exterior features of the home, which is asking $549,900.
