Today the Times takes a gorgeously languid tour of the 1917 Mission house of one Virginia Savage McAlester, grand dame of American home architecture and author of A Field Guide to American Houses. Highlights from her Dallas spread, an "Alamo revival" with shaped parapets above the entry, include a turquoise-tiled fireplace, a silver tea service atop an ornate wooden sideboard, and a sunroom. Have a look. [NYT]
