Poor Truro. No one seems to want buy any of the town's wackiest listings. While the octagon house is attempting to sell using the standard pricechopper route, these trap sheds have decided to go with the less common priceupper tactic.
We first wrote about the 55 Pond Road listing back in May 2013 when the asking price was $575,000. Alas, there were no takers and the ask was reduced that July to $499,000. This summer, the price tag was down to $459,000 and we included the circa 1900 pair on our map of the Cape's least expensive beachfront listings. Apparently, that wasn't the magic number since a buyer did not scoop up the beachy twins and they were taken off the market - well, for a moment anyway. As of today, the diminutive duo on Cape Cod Bay are back and looking as rustic as ever, but with some new photos for a full view of trap shed chic. Here's how the latest listing sums up the 680-square-foot spread: "Part of Truro History! This one bedroom cottage with its twin sister studio were originally trap sheds for the historic cold storage processing industry . Charming only begins to describe this property located directly on the beach with views from Provincetown to Plymouth!" That said, the 1BR, 1.5BA twosome on .12 beachfront acres are once again yours for $499,000, "in as is condition."
