A major redesign for a 50-acre portion of the National Mall in Washington, D.C., has officially received the go-ahead. The project, a collaboration between Rogers Partners and PWP Landscape Architecture, won the competition to revamp the neglected Constitution Gardens (located between the WWII Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial) two years ago, and will feature an 160-foot-long glass pavilion and an elevated events plaza. More details and renderings, right this way. [ArchDaily]
