Hello Kitty, the fictional "little girl" that for all intents and purposes assumes the identity of a feline, turns 40 this year, and today, L.A. is kicking off the world's first-ever Hello Kitty Convention, a four-day extravaganza that involves a retrospective exhibition, tattoo parlor, pop-up shops, and, wonder of wonders, hotels rooms completely covered in the beloved Sanrio character. At the Line Hotel in Koreatown, a few rooms and a VIP lounge designed by L.A. landscape architect Sean Knibb have gotten the ultimate Hello Kitty makeover. Inside, you'll find Hello Kitty toilet paper lining the walls, plush-toy "Hello Kitty clouds" affixed to the ceilings, and Hello Kitty figurines lined around the master tub. Think it's too much? Well it's not for some! Racked LA reports that these theme rooms have all sold out. A closer look, below.
