Despite Warm Weather, Loveland Ski Area Will Open Saturday

While other ski areas in Colorado (Keystone and Copper) have delayed their resort openings this week, Loveland Ski Area announced that they will open for the 2014-2015 season on Saturday, November 1. This is a relatively late opening for the local's favorite, as last year they opened October 17 and they are almost always in the hunt with neighbor Arapahoe Basin to be the first ski area open in North America. But despite a few good storms early on, Colorado's weather the past two weeks has been unseasonably warm.

From Loveland Ski Area:

Chair 1 will run from 8:30am until 4:00pm on Saturday and will provide skiers and riders with access to one top-to-bottom run covered from tree-to-tree with an 18 inch base. The trails Catwalk, Mambo and Home Run make up this Opening Day run which is over a mile long and nearly 1,000 vertical feet.

Loveland Ski Area will be open seven days a week until Closing Day in early May. Lift operating hours are 9:00am until 4:00pm on weekdays and 8:30am until 4:00pm on weekends and designated holidays. Early season lift tickets are $51 for adults and $25 for children ages 6-14.
