Former Garage is Now a Minimalist 'Outdoor Experience'

New, 1 comment

Dutch design firm i29 Interior Architects recently transformed a garage in Amsterdam's De Pijp neighborhood into a high-contrast single-level home, one with white-and-jet-black interiors punched up with a rainforest-y combo of oak wood and verdant hues. A cold-blooded palette completely covers this 2,500-square-foot space, which includes such custom fixings as a large, wooden sliding door (to hide storage areas) and a mossy, 215-square-foot knotted rug. This, when combined with "the excess of natural light" and "the soft layer of green and beige" makes the space, according to its designers "resemble the outdoor experience while being inside."
