The Skinny: Over on 58.6 sweet subdividable acres, on the waterfront of New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee, sits a 17,156-square-foot mansion that, believe it or not, was designed to blend in to its surroundings. According to TMS Architects, the firm that designed the house in the mid-oughts, the blend of earth-tone colors employed on the house's exterior make it all but disappear "among the pine trees in a harmonious relationship with nature's color palette." That particular claim may be dubious, but the love for the estate is unambiguous; in 2007 it won the state chapter's American Institute of Architects Peoples Choice Award.
