Big Snow On Its Way Right Now to the Western United States

Skiers looking for an early Thanksgiving present, rejoice! Big snow is coming to most of the west starting this Friday. The forecasters over at Powderchasers.com say that this Friday, the Cascades will likely received 12-15 inches before the storm hits the Sierra on Saturday. The Rockies should get plenty of the white stuff too, with moderate snow forecasted in Sun Valley and Jackson Hole on Saturday and Sunday. Utah's Open Snow Meteorologist Evan Thayer predicts a "significant" storm for the state Saturday night into Sunday, with lots of moisture, good dynamics, and a long duration (this usually means the storm totals are measured in feet, not inches!). Colorado should also get a powder day on Sunday with at least 4-7 inches and another, possibly big storm in the state Sunday through Tuesday morning. Wherever you're skiing this weekend, the snow should be soft!
