Wacky Mashpee Contemporary Can't Find a Buyer

Whether in Orleans, Wellfleet or Mashpee, the wacky Contemporary is not an easy sell and, not surprisingly, any listing described as both "unique" and "designed for the distinctive homeowner" is destined to linger on the market. Case in point, this Upper Cape exemplar of 1986 architecture.

The four-level abode debuted on the market in July 2012 asking $575,000 and we first wrote about 135 Pimlico Pond Road in January 2013 when the 4BR, 2BA was looking for $550,000. Back then, the 3,000-square-footer was furnished and full of '80s glory (photos of the black, jetted tub can be seen here). Alas, a buyer did not appear and the listing has lingered on the market at that price ever since. In the meantime, a floorplan was added, providing a welcome guide to the wackiness and last week, the pricechopper appeared for a second visit and brought the ask down a hair to $540,000. Will that we slice be enough to get this 2.5 acre "wooded retreat" sold, or will the chopper return yet again?
