Following last month's record-setting sale of NYC's Waldorf-Astorial Hotel, the NY Observer has traced the long and star-studded history of the iconic establishment. One highlight: back in 1955, Marilyn Monroe ditched Hollywood for the hotel's $1,000-per-week suite and stayed there for half a year.
