Designer Karim Rashid, the world's foremost purveyor of psychedelic interiors colored like artificially-flavored candy, has reportedly been spotted checking out a $3.5M condo in Williamsburg. The duplex in question contains four bedrooms, a full chef's kitchen, great room with double-height ceilings, and private roof deck with an outdoor kitchen. It's unclear what the interiors actually look like right now (the building is brand new), but the mostly mild and earthy tones seen in these images from the listing will definitely be gone if Rashid moves in.
The Egyptian designer, who was a juror for Curbed's Young Guns competition this year, currently lives in a predictably vibrant Hell's Kitchen pad that's decked out in his own designs (as was the case with his previous Chelsea apartment). In fact, as Rashid told Design Hunting earlier this year, his home is a way for him to "experience" and "test out" designs and "find the soul" of his work. So, a blank new space means another canvas for the serial decorator to do his business, another power-up to the Karim Rashid brand.
