Oak Bluffs Victorian With Gorgeous Views Lists for $3.65M

Oak Bluffs has a pricey new listing and it's pretty spectacular. The 1880 Victorian at 55 Ocean Avenue last sold in July 2013 for $1,250,000, apparently as a fixer-upper. Fast forward 17 months and, according to the latest brokerbabble, the 2,997-square-footer has been "completely renovated and transformed into the jewel on the park that it once was."

Perhaps the swoon-worthy exterior set our expectations too high, but the post-renovation interior just doesn't appear quite as fabulous. Obviously, we have no idea how much original detail existed or was salvageable, but some of the choices for finishes and fixtures fall flat. Of course, the staging isn't really helping either. Regardless, the Ocean Park spread is still a stunner. Here's how the listing sums up the 4BR, 5.5BA:

Water and park views are enjoyed inside and out of this elegant home from the wraparound veranda to the second floor balcony. Three of the four en-suite bedrooms have water views with access to the beautiful front porch. This thoughtful renovation encompasses the entire home. From the impeccable attention to detail on the exterior, to creating an open floor plan to accommodate a large family and friends. All the amenities one would expect in this high quality renovation: spa-like baths with carrara marble, Thermador appliances & soapstone counters in the kitchen, sun filled family room, game room with access to the patio, central AC and two car parking in the rear, to name just a few! The "rare find" hit the market yesterday for $3,650,000, making this the second most expensive single-family (or third, if we count a huge family compound) for sale in Oak Bluffs.
