Rapper-turned-headphones-mogul Dr. Dre has really been enjoying the cash reaped from selling his cash cow, Beats Electronics, to Apple for $3B earlier this year. First he a dropped a casual $40M on the 14,000-square-foot L.A. mansion owned by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bündchen—which the couple listed for $50M a mere six months after it got a huge feature in Architectural Digest. The McCastle, designed by megamanse master-builder Richard Landry, is brand new, but the L.A. Times reports the good doctor is renovating anyway.
Not content with just the "double-height, wood-paneled library," reclaimed-cobblestone motor court next to a "koi-stocked moat," and "rock-scaped pool with a waterfall and diving rock," as AD once listed, Dr. Dre is building a 10,000-square-foot music studio underneath the chateau.
