Weird Jersey Mansion With Tons of Stained Glass Asks $2.8M

An enigma remodeled into mystery, this Moorestown, N.J. brick colonial is such a strange blend of styles and eccentric collections that it's tough going wrapping your head around what they all amount to. Depending on which source you check, the estate was built anywhere from 1852 to as far back as 1682, but either way, a series of overhauls have hidden a lot of the obvious markers of its pedigree. There was one in 1990, when it served as a designer show house for a local charity fundraiser, as well as a year-long renovation after the current owners bought it in 2000, and changed its official title from the Rancocas Springs Boarding House to Maganda, which means 'beautiful' in Tagalog. Big collectors of religious iconography, they also added a small chapel to the property, along with countertops made from repurposed altars, and bunch of "unbelievable stained glass that had been in an old church some 95 years ago." The 12,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom home sits on eight acres, and boasts a swimming pool, four fireplaces, a wine cellar, a few massive crystal chandeliers, and a stately rotunda. First listed in 2011 at $4.99M, the price was chopped, chopped, and chopped again down to $2.88M. Give this utterly strange, occasionally handsome abode a look below:
