Development Watch

People are arguing in Aspen over the redevelopment of Main Street's Hotel Aspen, and last night's city council meeting was reduced to standing room only. The project includes 54 rooms and three free market homes on the backside of the hotel. Developers say the project is important to improve the local lodging scene's diversity, detractors argue the development is incompatible with Aspen's neighborhood character in the West End.
