Resort Development

Whistler Blackcomb just announced the addition of new eight-passenger gondola cabins for its Whistler Village Gondola. The project costs $6 million to replace the ancient (they were built in 1988) cabins and will be finished by the end of October, 2014. The Canadian ski resort is also spending $5.9 million to install an RFID system so guests can keep their passes in pockets and scan guns will go the way of the cassette tape. [Pique]
