On the market for first time in 40 years, this one-of-a-kind $2.2M home in Palm Springs, Calif. once belonged to interior designer Arthur Elrod. Perhaps best known for his contributions to John Lautner's famed Elrod House, the designer built the four-bedroom pad for himself in 1962, only to sell it to his friend William Hamling—mid-century publisher and obscenity law rebel—just a few years later. Luckily, though, Hamling had the good sense to keep all the furnishings exactly as Elrod had designed them—right down to the swanky bedroom sets, epic pistachio cabinetry, and low slung, slightly Mediterranean living room. The house also comes with a grand patio and pool area that is—of course—done up in swinging 60s flair. By all means, do have a look of the completely intact time capsule, below:
