Six fireplaces, five bedrooms, four baths, three floors, two pricechops, and one secret garden path have changed hands on Edgartown's North Water Street.
The rather historic abode, as in 1840, first hit the market back in July 2009 asking an optimistic $3,950,000. Alas, a buyer did not appear and the 12 room captain's home bounced off and on the market - while changing brokers, naturally - for the next several years. In May 2013, the 3,177 square footer returned with a $2,695,000 ask and, as the brokerbabble noted, "Priced to sell and one of the absolute best values in Edgartown's historic district." Indeed and by December, the "beloved historic home" had found a proper suitor and went into contract. Final March sale price for the .20 acre spread was $2,200,000.
