The critic du jour of Architizer's "Angry Architect" series recently defended Norman Foster's upcoming NYC tower, tackling claims that it will diminish Mies van der Rohe's seminal Seagram Building: "[Foster's tower] rises from street level with simple elegance, displaying a height-to-width ratio that simultaneously complements and contrasts with Mies van der Rohe's classic."
