Crystal Mountain officials have no regrets about using 25 pounds of explosives to trigger a massive avalanche that destroyed the High Campbell chairlift. Even though the ski area will have to shell out approximately $1.75 million to replace the lift this summer, the resort stands by their decision and said, "it was much better to destroy a lift when [the resort] was closed than to risk an avalanche when it was opened."
