In response to pleas for a redesign, Frank Gehry submitted an updated version of his much-derided proposal for the Eisenhower Memorial, believe it or not. After congress rejected the budget for his plan, which the Eisenhower family described as reminiscent of "Communist imagery or chain-link fences at a Nazi concentration camp," Gehry changed it by adding 74 trees to the model.
