Rent Lloyd Wright's Taggart House for a Cool $16.5K

New, 1 comment

This 1922 home by Lloyd Wright—the prodigious son of Frank Lloyd Wright and lover of all things Mayan whose works occasionally turn into A-lister favorites—has been deemed a historic-cultural monument by the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission, so anyone who does end up renting the Taggart House for the current price of $16.5K a month would need to take extra care not to scuff the place up. It last changed hands in May of 2010 for $2.335M after an initial ask of $3.249M, and has since been brought to "fully restored condition," as the listing notes, down to the "Wrightian leaded glass windows," with recent landscaping done on the lawn. While not quite as austere or flamboyant as some of Lloyd Wright's other work, this one wears its FLW influence well, and has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a pool, and a "dramatic two-story living room with city views," specifically of LA's Los Feliz neighborhood. What it doesn't come with is the furniture; it's unclear whether Lloyd Wright designed any of it himself, like his daddy was prone to do, but renters won't have the luxury of using any of it without "an additional monthly cost."
