Would Frank Lloyd Wright Approve of His Grandson's Home?

New, 3 comments

One Tim Wright—grandson of the venerable American architect Frank Lloyd Wright—must have been channeling some of his grandpa's aesthetic tastes when he purchased this airy, prefab home and plunked it down on 112 acres in Spring Green, Wisc.. Located relatively close to Wright's famed Taliesin estate, which Tim Wright and his wife work to preserve, the 2,212-square-foot structure was created by Blu Homes—a company that specializes in "assembly required" eco-friendly prefab houses. Much like a FLW-designed home, the simple, two-bedroom space calls upon clean lines, an open floor plan, and lots of floor-to-ceiling glass in the place of walls. Sliding glass doors and multiple sky lights provide plenty of direct sunlight, along with some pretty stunning views of the surrounding land—which takes center stage thanks to the home's warm, simple interiors.
