Airy Dome Home in the Westchester Countryside Asks $750K

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Waccabuc, N.Y.
Price: $749,957
The Skinny: While many dome homes function as ad hoc geodesic time capsules, encasing and preserving the burnt-orange, shag-carpeted heyday of 1970s decor (not that there's a darn thing wrong with that!), this nifty house in Westchester County keeps it fairly contemporary inside. Though it may not feature bleeding edge design choices, most of the furniture at least originates within hailing distance of the Aughts, with a few cheerfully unashamed holdovers from the '90s—which, like full employment and Rachel cuts, are overdue for a comeback. The four-bedroom, two-bathroom demi-globe is also (unlike too many of its sad, dimly lit and darkly paneled brethren) bright and airy, especially in the two-level living room, which has a library on the second landing. Outside there's a deck, a patio, and two acres of wooded land to wander around, and just down the road is historic Katonah Village. The 3,500-square-foot home is asking the incredibly precise sum of $749,957: insert your own "dome home price not rounded up" joke here.
