Long-time peddler of Mad Men-era furniture Herman Miller published a brief history about its candy-colored, iconic shell chairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames. There's also a collection of factory-fresh .gifs that show exactly how a bunch of fiberglass-enforced plastic (a rehash of the original plywood model named "Best Design of the Century" by Time) becomes the chairs beloved by midcentury aficionados (and their cats!) the world over.
