British Rocker Joe Cocker's Colorado Ranch Wants $7 Million

New, 1 comment

British singer Joe Cocker, known for hits like "You Are so Beautiful," is selling his 7 bedroom, 10 bathroom Colorado ranch and downsizing to a smaller home. Cocker bought the remote 240-acre parcel of land (which is about 2 hours from Aspen) in 1992 and built a massive 15,873 square-foot European style mansion. The home comes with a library, sun room, music room (naturally), and billiards room complete with an antique English snooker table. Like the furniture? The listing is $7 million without them or $7,850,000 with furnishings and equipment included. Outside, potential rocker-wannabes will find a seven-stall barn, outdoor riding arena, equipment shed, swimming pond, and two greenhouses where Mr. Cocker grows award-winning tomatoes (who knew?). Known as Mad Dog Ranch after the singer's 1970s "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" tour, the whole compound is a bit of a juxtaposition, mixing classic English architecture (there's even a turret) in a western ranch setting. But hey, if you were ranked as one of Rolling Stone's 100 greatest singers of all time, you could build whatever you wanted too.
