One of Vail's Oldest Hotels To Get Facelift This Fall

The Lodge at Vail, one of Vail's oldest hotels, just announced it plans to renovate 56 hotel rooms this fall with new interior finishes, furnishings, and soft goods (fur pillows, anyone?). This completes a series of renovations that begin in 2008 with the goal of freshening-up the 51-year-old RockResort property owned by Vail Resorts. Last summer the hotel's pool and outdoor areas were rebooted to include new hot tubs, fire pits, landscaping, stone work, heating, and a full-service bar and kitchen. Beyond redoing the remaining hotel rooms, guests will also see improvements to the hotel's corridors, main stairways, and lobby area. Renovations will start in August and continue through December, but the property will remain open.
