The Park Record is reporting that a massive parcel of land near Deer Valley was just put on the market and if it is sold, it would be the biggest real estate deal in decades. There aren't many details about the Dutch-owned expansive acreage called the Mayflower, except that for an unknown price will get you 4,000 to 5,000 acres (the precise number of acres is not known) of land located off the Mayflower exit of U.S. 40, running from the Jordanelle Reservoir to the Deer Valley ski slopes. Beyond its scope, the acreage also comes with Wasatch County development rights for approximately 2,400 units, many close to the ski area. So what does that mean? Think new high-end hotels, luxury houses, condos, and fancy golf courses. With Deer Valley planning to expand the ski area in the same area, the Mayflower price tag will be steep. Interested billionaires will visit the area this summer and the listing agents hope to sell by the end of 2014.
