David Adler-Designed Manse Looks as Perfect as a Doll House

New, 1 comment

Designed by architect David Adler in 1927 and currently on the market for $3.9M, this nine-bedroom manse in Lake Forest, Ill. is so ridiculously perfect—and so quintessentially Adler—that it looks more like a dollhouse than, say, a real, people-sized home. Called The Clow, the luxe home's stucco wall exterior "hints of the grandeur within," according to the rather coy brokerbabble, "without divulging its secrets." Inside, just a few of these "secrets" include a mirror-lined sitting room with sky-high ceilings, intricate marble floors, and seriously lust-worthy original moldings. Peek at the listing photos below, then head over to Curbed Chicago for the full gallery, plus some lovely old archival shots.
