The smallest apartment available in the notoriously pricey city of San Francisco is a 225-square-foot one-bedroom in the middle of Chinatown currently asking $1,750 a month in rent. Sounds a bit ludicrous, but then again, it's downright roomy compared to last year's tiniest, saddest apartment in New York City, a studio in Harlem offering 100 square feet of floor space for $1,250 a month.
