The preeminent shaper of suburban Chicago opulence designed it in the early '30s, and according to the listing, all 8,205 square feet of the place have since been "exquisitely updated and transformed to absolute perfection." The staging photos show a good ratio of hits to misses in the interior design, while outside, the grounds look well-sculpted, with a greenhouse, bluestone terraces, and a fire pit. This Adler can be had for $5.95M, which is down a bit from its 2012 price of $6.1M, but still more than double the $2.78M it sold for back in 1998.
