Historic Public Buildings are Architecture Porn at its Finest

New, 2 comments

A brand new exhibition featuring prolific German photographer Candida Höfer just opened at the Fondazione Bisazza gallery in Vincenza, Italy, and boy does it manage to pack a whole lot of beautiful, lust-worthy architecture photography into one space. Called the Images of Architecture, the collection features hand selected photographs of classical architecture, including shots of the Library Girolamini in Naples, Italy and The Royal Portuguese Reading Library in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil. Made up entirely of public spaces—including historic theaters, offices, banks, and many libraries— the lush, large-scale prints are like a trip to some of the most beautiful old buildings in the world. Take a look, below, and try not to feel too depressed about the slightly less glamorous public architecture of today.
