Climb Aboard the Trendiest Houseboat Ever to Set Sail

Built by a Dutch couple to serve as a full-time home for their family of five, this petite but masterfully edited houseboat in the small town of Nieuwersluis, The Netherlands looks just lovely enough to coax even the staunchest landlubber onto the high seas. As is key with any floating microhome, every last inch of the narrow space is designed to provide maximum storage, with shelving units lining the walls and built-in closet panels. Bright white walls, cement floors, and a general lack of excess clutter also keep the space feeling open, while their tree-lined dock provides extra lounge space. According to the couple, the idea to build a houseboat stemmed from a shared belief in raising kids close to nature. "On warm summer evenings we swim until the sun goes down," the owners tell Dutch decor magazine VT Wonen. Take a look, below:
