As the official kick-off to summer season, it's only natural that you'll want to satisfy your pent-up jones for hiking, biking, or paddling. That said, there's still skiing and riding at some resorts, thanks to an higher-than-average snowpack. Aspen Mountain just announced it will reopen for the weekend, while other ski spots nationwide can be found here.
All that activity is going to leave you both thirsty and famished. Whether you're a beer-hound, wine, or whiskey aficionado, there's a dive bar, distillery, or swanky hotel bar with your name on it.
Perhaps it's best to line your stomach before the combo of altitude and alcohol kicks your butt. Ski towns, of course, aren't inexpensive, but regardless of your budget, there's great food to be had.
