Small Town Slopes

The Community Ski Area Survey, conducted in March, just released the results of how smaller ski areas play a role in the industry and in the lives of avid skiers. Not all skiers are lucky enough to learn on the steep slopes of the Rockies and according to the survey, 70 percent of respondents learned to ski at areas with less than 1,600 vertical feet. Conducted by The Antelope Butte Foundation, Ski Essentials, and Mountain Rider's Alliance, the rest of the results prove there's still a big need for the small guys. [Powder Magazine]
